Time Hurries On
July 4th. This evening all of the Couple Missionaries met at President & Sister Bennion's home. We all had a fun evening. On our drive home we enjoyed lots of fireworks!
July 7th After taking the Elders with us to our district meeting in Canton the four of us went to the Bowen's and helped them load their rental truck. They are moving to Virginia. Are little Branch is struggling for Priesthood leaders and it's hard to see some of our strong ones move away.
On one of our P-days we went to Fort Mountain. Some of the speculation of the fortress on the top of this mountain is thet it could have been built by the Spanish explorers for protection or by some ancient people. Or that it could have been a final defense or last stand of some ancient people. There are Indian legends that speak of a light skin people that were destroyed by a dark skin people. It was so amazing to be there. The fortress was described perfectly in the book of Mormon when Captain Moroni was building walls around cities to protect his people from the attacking Lamanites.
We went up to Tom & Lynn's and taught a lesson about the Priesthood. They are such wonderful people and so eager to learn.
On July 14th after our district meeting the four of us (Sister Rumsey & I and the two young Elders) stopped at Mellisa's and taught Courtney, Shane & Austin "The Need For A Prophet".
From there we went up to see Diane and spend some time with her.
July16th. Sister Rumsey & I celebrated our 24th Anniversary today. We spent the day working out of the old area books and then making lots of visits inviting people to the Branch picnic to be held on Saturday. The Branch picnic was very small but fun for those that came. It's hard to get the members to come to functions that are not critical because many of them live so far away. We live fairly close to the middle of the Branch and to visit those at the NW corner or the SW corner it is almost an hour drive either direction.
